Autonomic Workload (the “App”) is operated by Signal Detection Group LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) as a health and wellness application that uses electrocardiogram (ECG) data to help you monitor your physiology and activity. This policy explains what data the App collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account and using the App, you acknowledge the practices described here.

Not a medical device

Autonomic Workload is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Information in the App is for general wellness and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for any medical concerns.

Information we collect

When you use the App, we collect:

Account information — your name and email address, used to create and manage your account (handled through our authentication provider, AWS Cognito).
Physiological data (health & fitness) — electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart-rate data recorded from a paired chest-strap sensor during baseline and activity sessions. This is sensitive health-related data and is the core of the App.
Precise location — GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) captured during recording sessions to provide session context. Location is collected only while a recording is in progress, and only if you grant the location permission; you may decline it in your device settings.
Session and activity data — activity labels, timing, and your responses to in-app workload / mental-demand surveys.
Device and sensor identifiers — an account identifier and identifiers for your phone and the paired sensor, used to associate recordings with the correct session.

We do not collect data for advertising, and the App contains no third-party advertising.

How we use your data

We use the data above to:

operate the App’s core functions (record and upload your sessions);
provide health and wellness features, including analysis of your physiological and session data;
maintain, secure, and improve the service.

Where data is used to improve the service or in aggregated materials, it is de-identified, and we do not include personally identifiable information in public materials.

How your data is stored and secured

Data is transmitted from the App to our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is encrypted in transit (TLS). Data stored in our AWS databases is encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to authorized members of our team. AWS acts as our infrastructure provider (data processor) and does not use your data for its own purposes.

Sharing of data

We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not share your identifiable personal data with third parties without your permission. We may share data:

with service providers that help us operate and improve the App, under appropriate agreements and, where feasible, in de-identified form; and
where required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

As of the effective date above, data is used only within our team and our AWS infrastructure. Any future sharing with service providers described here will be governed by appropriate agreements; we will update this policy and our Google Play Data safety disclosures before any such sharing begins.

Data retention and deletion

Recorded data (ECG, heart rate, location, and session responses) is retained to provide and improve the App’s health and wellness features and is not automatically deleted when you delete your account — deleting your account removes your login credentials but does not, by itself, erase previously recorded data.

To request deletion of your recorded data, email info@signaldetectiongroup.com from or referencing the account you used, and we will delete the associated records. You may also delete your account at any time from the App’s profile screen.

Children

The App is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.

Your choices

Use of the App is voluntary — you may stop using it at any time and request deletion of your data (see Data retention and deletion above).
You can decline or revoke the location and Bluetooth permissions in your device settings (some features may not function without them).
You can delete your account from the profile screen, and request data deletion as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
